I searched, nothing useful came up. So here goes:

I've got the ff2 joystick, and it's quite good... when it works. The problem are the drivers. They work some of the time, but sometimes they just go crazy and strange things happen. Like the joystick stops centering itself and all force feedback stops. Annoying while you're on someones tail.

Also, it keeps crashing the properties panel, when under the forces tab and you press the buttons. Sometimes the centering goes a bit funny while under the forces tab. Like sitting on the pyramid button is pressed but it isn't.

So here's my question: has anyone managed to make it work? And by work I mean it's stable for, like, 97% of the time? Either through Microsoft drivers(I lost hope on that one) or through homemade ones. My only hope now are the home made ones, since micro soft dropped all support for it. If you did, can you post how?

EDIT: Oh, Windows XP, sp2 FYI

I have the same joystick. Mine however works perfectly under the default drivers (XP SP2). Try calibrating it maybe? I lost my CD a long time ago and have run without the app ever since. Sorry I can't be of more help. Or maybe try uninstalling though the hardware manager, then reconnecting to get the default drivers to load properly?
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

I know, default drivers are a lot more stable. But you can't manage the forces, assign buttons, etc.

If you have a power loss, like in a storm, and your computer shuts down, does the joystick get detected upon start up or do you have to unplug it from the usb port and then plug it back in for it to be detected?
