Hard to really blame China why should they stand back on cost of their economic rise? we have moved over allot of our dirty work there as well.oug wrote:

Not bad considering they have about 4 times the population of the US.
you probably cause more pollution due to coal --> electricity from taking a shower than the average Chinese person produces in a whole week.

Wat's wrong with Aljazeera, ATG said that he would often go to their site to try and find anything pro-terrorist and he found nothing.TC.Troy wrote:

Whew... Just had to get that out of me. Aljazeera has no fundamentalist aims, I've seen some persian-American psychologist lay the smack down in a debate with Islamic wahabbist priests on Aljazeera. It's on youtube somewhere.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
Yay for China...but the Environmentalists will still say we're the worst poluters (per capita).
ATG is right and wrong. I have never seen them post ANYTHING good at all about the US either. That is not balance.doctastrangelove1964 wrote:

And keep in mind ATG is a pothead, so he may have been under the influence when browsing.

usmarine, i'm sure you don't watch Al Jazeera enough to know that. Unless you do, then i stand by my mullahmarine comment!
Seriously though, i'm not surprised. They do have 800 Million more people though, plus they do alot of manufacturing. I'm actually surprised as to what the hell in the U.S causes all the pollution, factorys? Surely the U.S doesn't have that many?

You know, there is so much pollution in China that if you put your hand in a City river then it will come out burnt and destroyed. It's true. They are so full of chemicals that you can even touch the water.
I thought you were one of those people that didn't beleive in Global Warming and Greenhouse gasses and stuff? (don't get me wrong, it might not be you)Kmarion wrote:

I find it funny that alot of people deny Global Warming, but when China suddenly becomes the top polluter it's all "omg they're reuining teh planets"
He believes it.Mekstizzle wrote:

Thought so, but my rant still stands
Im on the edge of Global Warming, not sure either way. But still, even if Global Warming doesn't exist I dont think there is much of a problem with having a clean enviorment. (By clean I mean what we have today, where I live, in the suburbs, though in a city of approx 100-150,000 that used to have major manufacturing plants here I really dont see much of a problem, hell, I think it was probably a lot worse 100 or so years ago, people would just dump everything everywhere.)Mekstizzle wrote:

...so are you saying indirectly that the chinese people don't take as many showers as we do in the US? phew!maffiaw wrote:

Well if you're going to do pollution per country and ignore how many people are in it, then when people are deciding how much pollution is acceptable per country, enjoy sharing the same pollution limits as Liechtenstein.Kmarion wrote:

I don't care if your population is 10 thousand or 10 billion. It is the responsibility of a governments policymakers to take care of the environment, not to look for an "acceptable" excuse that allows you to shit all over the planet. Anyone truly concerned with the environment can see that. The rest couldn't care about the impact a nation has, so long as it serves their political interest. Can't you see through the transparent bullshit?

I'd love to see a pic of the Earth at night...
Where none of those lights are on. For 24 hours all electricity is disabled across the planet... Excepting possibly defence related systems around the world because nobody will turn those off volutarily.
Oh and heaters for people in taiga/tundra regions.

If your country can crap out a million more babies and not increase your pollution levels they yeah, I'd hand you a big fat medal.Kmarion wrote:
