Billionaires are better off.
Who knows. It could be said that Clinton's neglect and lack of foresight, combined with continuing to cut our intelligence agencies funding, allowed for exploitation of the resulting events by the Bush administration.

I can not, however there may be a few.

I am.
Well Bush has made life a little less pleasant for American tourists when they're travelling around the world thanks to the damage he has done to the US' reputation. He appears to be spending a lot of money on futile wars half way around the world, which also have cost the lives of a few thousand soldiers. His administration has also done more than any other to curtail US citizen's civil liberties.
Clinton's no angel but, as an outsider, he doesn't seem as bad as Bush to me.

Or as Military historians put it, bush is the modern day Caligula.
He can't even manage the aftermath of a Hurricane, let alone go to war....

What the fuck.............
We sure as hell were not better under Clinton.
*edit* Is this the best post you can think of? Far far far from original to say the least.

Bush has had to deal with all the shit that came from Clinton's neglect of the military and intelligence services. Clinton raped the CIA and NSA of all their funding and assets. He did the same thing with the military. He made it super easy for terrorist to target and kill us. I do not agree with Bush on everything. I hate his views on immigration but you have to give the guy credit he does the right thing regardless or what the liberal media portrays him of doing. In 30 years Bush will be looked upon as the reason we are not recovering from a nuclear holocaust and speaking farsi. Doing the right thing is never the easy thing to do.
Go watch Syriana, it is the best representation of the difficulties our government has in dealing with this.

I'm not specifically saying Clinton, just saying it won't get any worse than Bush.
Futile wars, spending Billions on it, whilst at the same time he can't manage his internal affairs, as was painfully shown during the aftermath of Katrina. Here such things wouldn't happen in the first place, because we actually know how to keep water out.... Bush responded in a way you'd expect a third world country to respond... And that goes for other area's too. He hasn't manged to bring peace/ a solution to the ME conflict even a step closer, in fact with the invasion of Iraq, probably just worsened the problems.

I think the working class was indisputably better off under Clinton, but I also believe that things can and will get worse. The purchasing power parity of the average American has fallen for quite some time now, and I really doubt any president can change this trend.Corpy wrote:

Sadly, I could name at least 10 presidents we've had that were worse than Bush (most of them in the late 1800s and early 1900s), and I think we're headed back towards the Gilded Age as the gap between the working class and the rich widens. We have a very harshly aristocratic future to look forward to....

I can't really say that one is worse than the other, but here's my take on this whole idea.
While Clinton was in power, the CIA, NSA, and military had their funds royally raped. At the time no one thought much of it because we didn't see any real threats, mainly because we no longer had to worry about the Soviet Union, and as such no one really saw a need to dump money to maintain any of those organizations at their large sizes. Admittedly this wasn't entirely the result of Clinton since the plans for down sizing these organizations had been drawn up before he took power but, in my opinion, he did the down sizing much too fast. Also, after the bombing of the USS Cole, I think Clinton should have tried to retaliate, or at least get the intelligence community to focus more on Middle Easter terrorism than they had been.
Enter Bush and 9/11. Suddenly these organizations which just a year earlier were considered to be over sized relics of the Cold War now need to be turned around as quickly as possible to confront a new, largely unseen, unnoticed, and unstudied threat. Did the administration act in haste, yes. Did they make mistakes, yes. What will be the result of these mis steps and unforeseen events? No one can really know.
Honestly, it's still to early to pass judgement on either of these two. They both were responding to the immeadiate needs of the nation and in the end made mistakes which led to concequences they couldn't have imagined.

I would say that both Presidents had their shortcomings in a lot of ways. Bush inherited some of Clinton's. I will say that as the president, Bush had to endure so much more than any president in history and through all this our economy has held its own. Some things aren't great right now but it stuck together through all the things that happened...disasters, war and the economy. If you look at Bush's plate, what he had to deal with around every corner, well, he did his best. Maybe not in a lot of people's eyes, but I don't envy that position one bit. Think about it, if you or I was in his position...i think I wouldn't get one good nights sleep and when I woke up in the morning, the first thing I would ask is "what now?". I say good luck to whomever is next.....they are going to need it.
Clinton didn't have to deal with 9/11 and the escalating hatred of the US by radical Islamists... The terrorists are stuck in the past with their perverted take on religion... when anyone from a foreign country comes to the US... they see how amazing this country is....even with the inherent issues... Their anger has to subside when they realize what a huge melting pot this country is and that the people in the US dont hate or wish any harm to the rest of the world...
Love is the answer
I say we make Hilary president. Then we can desecrate our American values and traditions even more!
I hate Hillary more then Bill. Everyones complaining about our rights when shes the one pushing for extremly strict gun laws and the banning of violent video games. Everyone knows BF2 is on that list!~[_-=*Hanma*=-_]~ wrote:

Gone through more than any other president in history, dude? Do you know much about history? Ever heard of FDR? JFK? 9/11 was bad, don't get me wrong. But comparing al-Qaeda to Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan is just ridiculous.DeathBecomesYu wrote:

As for Bush.... he chose to divide the country, rather than keep it united. He chose to alienate our allies, rather than welcome them. If theres one reason for anyone to hate Bush, its the way he handled the nations foreign policy after 9/11. I agree, I think he did what he thought was right..... but Hitler did that as well. Whether or not a person thinks they're right is irrelevant... you have to look at the effects. I don't see how any person can honestly say Bush will be viewed positively in 30 years.... absolute shit. He will be the right wings Jimmy Carter. (Although he probably won't do jack shit after his presidency)

I think you and I have had this discussion before, but I still maintain that Carter's up there in the top 10.Turquoise wrote:

Sweet. George W. Bush is homosexual according to you. God bless thoughtful insight from those who are clearly intellectually gifted. I'm excited that we, now, all know what your uncle says.Tdog2007 wrote:

Here's a thoughtful tip for most of you who feel like opening your mouths. Don't. We both know you don't know dick, aside from what you've seen on TV or heard from your parents. When someone asks a serious question or starts a debate thread, realize that we've already seen the rhetoric that is biased programming (and also your "informed opinion").
i dont care, elect a monkey next time i dont mind, ohhh i forgot that was the thing u did last time
Don't be silly. JFK didn't actually do squat.Spearhead wrote:
