Let's suppose Country A supports country B.  Then there's country C which wants to attack and destroy country B.  If country A doesn't get involved country B would have to deal with country C alone.  If country A gets involved, country B would be much more safer, but the National Security of country A would be seriously compromised.  The president of country A has to take a decision between the security of a foreign country or the security of his own country.  In the poll option A means country A decides to help country B, compromising the security of its own citizens, and option B means country A decides not to help country B, because that would make country C and its allies to hate and attack country A.
What should country A do?
What is more important?  Your country's security or other country's security?
Is morality involved here?  How?  If country A choose not to help country B is country A wrong?

I think country D should get involved and pawn the other countries.

Just kidding well... not sure country A and B should support each other and screw country C I guess.

That could work, but it depends on if C really has an effect on A.  If the countries mentioned earlier were part of this analogy, then I'd say Iran will have very little effect on us if we leave Iraq.  They'll always have an effect on Israel, but Israel can go screw itself -- so can the Palestinians.

This shouldn't have even been brought to a poll.
Churchill once said something along the lines of : there are no definite friends in international politics, only one's own national interest.
It's common sense that countries only act appropriately when it would benefit their own national interest. Any other reason given is simply a 'feel good' mechanism to make the people feel better about what they are doing.
No one country is going to sacrifice for any other. A cynical as it may seem, it's the dark world of international politics/relations I'm afraid.

Why does the USA help Israel so much then... I'm failing so see the benefits myself.

Exactly
The financial might of all the Jewish people in the US dictates their influence on policy. simple as that.

Keeping that in mind, I would argue that most nations do not act in the best interests of their people in general, but they do act in the best interests of their rich people.  If there weren't so many rich Zionists investing in our government, we'd likely not continue funding Israel.  But the Zionists are among not just Jews.  There are plenty of Christian fundamentalist Zionists and neocon warmonger Zionists.
