This is because i dont want the hassle of Widescreen as i play BF2 alot. and it looks amazing and good responce time.

what else could be holding me back, is it my graphics card?

I can play on all medium on bf2 with 1024 x 768 with AA - 2

but it runs very laggy at the start.

I have a very small case, so i would prefer a small one.

I can play 2142 and BF2 on widescreen and it looks good - I don't know why you wouldn't want to get a widescreen since it looks great on any game and looks even better on widescreen-supported games.

Play bf2 with 1280x1024 it looks way better and its not too edgy without AA

2. More and more Vista games - will make sure that they run as perfectly as some did on XP

Give Vista a chance, it has a huge potential - There are tweaking guides on the internet, even fully legit programs you can get to tweak it and make it faster. - Vista is better than XP. It may require more RAM, but games were already requiring more and more of it, we were bound to have to upgrade drastically in the next few years.

Stick with a LEGIT Vista and you will be fine and be able to play games perfectly once SP1 comes out.
