I'm looking for an LCD HDTV between 30" - 40".
Price Range: $0 CAD - $1700 CAD, preferably about $1400 CAD excluding tax.

I was looking at a few of them...

37" LG for $1299.99 CAD

32" Sharp Aquos for $1399.99 CAD

32" Sony Bravia for 1399.99 CAD

Right now I'm stuck between the LG and Sharp, either I lose out on quality and go for the bigger size, or vice versa. If the loss is not that significant, then I'd go for the 37" of course. The LG is cheaper and has 2 year warranty instead of 1 year. Though I do not think TVs break often I do not think warranty is an issue. I was thinking about their extended warranty, but for $250 CAD, it doesn't seem to be worth it.

Here is a side-by-side comparison between the LG and Sharp.

Sole intentions for the new TV is to watch movies off PC (if compatible), and play Xbox 360 on it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm a big fan of the new samsung range, with that crazy super black panel thingy.  Kinda sexual...

Don't know what TV to choose.
But I've got a Samsung PS-42Q91H Plasma TV. Also very good tv.

I was looking into the Samsung lines, but I did not find a 32" HDTV that supports 1080p. The closest one was a 40" priced at $2300 CAD, which is out of my budget range. I did find two images that compared 1080p vs. 780p, so I think I'll go for the Sharp Aquos for now, unless someone has a better suggestion?

In my opinion the 780p looks like it is using composite instead of HD...

Like you said above, go with the Sharp. At 32", you can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. I've got a 47" Samsung 1080i rear projection hdtv and 720p looks better than 1080i (which is ok, because 1080p won't be broadcasted for a while), and I got it for $999.00.
