Well my G5 died (grrrr) so I'm needing a new mouse.

I won't take anything that doesn't have on-the-fly DPI change like the G5 does.

Does the Copperhead or Deathadder have this feature? If not, does Razer make a quality mouse that has on-the-fly DPI change?

How is the Copperhead/Deathadder in terms of size compared to the G5? I know people say it's a little bit smaller, but is it a lot smaller? I have pretty big hands.

Thanks.

I recently bought the MX518 from logitech, works a treat, and has on-the-fly dpi adjustment available.  I heard that those razer mice could be a little unreliable after a few months, however, after reading some reviews on the interweb.

I have a Diamondback and have been using it since it first came out so its been very reliable and I also have big hands (I'm 6'-5" tall) and it has always felt comfortable and easy to use. Razers are very good, I will always own one. Hope this helps.

Yeah all razers have on the fly dpi adjustment, and 20 point on the fly sensitivity adjustment (1-10 in 0.5 increments), and you can use the profiles to jiggle the polling rate on the fly too (getting the point that logitech really aren't all that customizable? and hilariously Razer did on the fly adjustments first, by a long way, yet its always logitech going on about it)

PM me if you want another angle. The main difference really is that the area around the 2 main buttons is higher on the G5

*goes to dig out image that shows where the thumb buttons are*

logitech mice place the thumb buttons so badly

https://img215.imageshack.us/img215/4225/razercopperhead91zg4.jpg

there we go, your thumb sits on the buttons, the connection is stiff enough to stop you pressing them by accident, when you lift the mouse your thumb grips under the blue rail so you dont drop it. G5, G7 and id imagine mx518s as well, your thumb goes under the thumb buttons meaning you have to move to hit it, also the sides dont have anything much to grip on and the side buttons have a pretty weak click which means if you do happen to poke it by accident it's going to fuck u up.

is the black texturing on the top rubberized? Slippy buttons did my head in on the G5.

Copperhead FTW.

I was, up until very recently playing with a ball mouse, then I switched to the copperhead at a friends recommendation.
I love the thing, it just perfect for me, and in all honesty it looks teh sex compared to the G5.

And yes it has on-the-fly, and yes its smaller and yes it's better!

Razer Copperhead has DPI-change and on-the-fly sensitivity change, other razers have too probably

I have to say i really don't like the look of it but giving some grip to it is a good thing, it was slippy as shit before and considering the weight of the G7 it was horrible to use, at least the G5 you could reduce the weight.

i'm glad they brought back the second button, it shows they listen to the cutsomers, just wish they'd put them somewhere more sensible and stiffened the connection a bit

I love my Copperhead and i sometimes play at my friend and he got a G5 and it just sucks for me. The Razer is a way lighter and can be moved on the pad much faster then the G5 !

For anyone who wants to see the config software.

https://img407.imageshack.us/img407/4706/settingsyodj4.jpg

DPI up + down buttons explain themselves (4 settings 400,800,1600,2000).

The on the fly button you hold and scroll up and down, the scale bar on the right pops up (in game too) and you just stick it on the sensitivity you want.

The grey drop down list is the list of things you can bind buttons to do, you can set any button on the mouse to do any of those things.

i'm sure the rest explains itself.

The one set as 'Windows Button 4' is my prone button for BF2, sits under the knuckle of my thumb, that above anything else impoved my game play way beyond what it was before I bought that mouse.

DPI Settings sub menu, you can set it to go up or down incrimentally or set a button for one of the DPI choices, have a button for sniping (800) and one for running about (2000). I use 1600 for everything and just jiggle the sensitivity personally.
