Such as?

No, it isn't.  You didn't help.  They made use of US satellites.  Big whoop.  Just about everyone who uses a satellite uses US satellites.  Fact is, we don't even know if they were government satellites.  Even if they were, allowing as to use a satellite every once in a while hardly matches up to us going to war for you all the fucking time.
Yes the US loves to go to war for no reason and kill people doesn't it?
Personally right now I can't be bothered to search through umpteen threads were you've done nothing but complain about the US efforts.

Yes, I have.  And most of what I've said has related to front page news.  As in, I didn't go digging around for that time, that did that thing, which sorta kinda helped what I was saying.

Ah right so you don't actually read about the little good things that go on, the ones that don't get the most ratings. So if its not on the front page or in a newspaper is must not have happened must it.

Little good things such as......................................um..........................okay...............................uh.................................the surgeons who keep US troops alive?  That's kind of nice.  I mean, yeah, it's their job............but, other than that.............there's, there's really not much.................

I suggest you go talk to the soldiers on this forum, and then maybe you'll get a better picture that isn't media orientated.

Oh, right.  Shall I start with the ones who served at Abu Grhaib or Gitmo?

We aren't talking about whether US soldiers are, by and large, inhuman monsters (and my opinion is, by and large, they aren't).  We're talking about what the US government has done.  And my opinion, based on the cold, hard facts, is that the US keeps on screwing up other peoples countries.

Of course, based on comments made in threads about pot, that probably gives me half the forum or more.

I agree.  The US soldiers should have been punished for such lame attempts at torturing the terrorist scum.  The US needs to get serious and start fighting the Islamo Turds using more brutal methods than they use.  These inhuman animated turd monkeys only understand fear and violence, the US needs to start using violence.  Hell, they aren't soldiers and fight civilians.  They have no rights.

Yeah, but that half is either asleep, watching cartoons, or digging through the refridgerator for a snack.

Yes, because so far all you've used is flower power?  Which explains all the tanks and guns and torturing?

i've experienced worse as a pledge at my old fraternity than some of those people at Abu Graib and Guantanamo.  The only difference is that my experiences only lasted a semester.  Honestly there is no comparison between the way the US treats prisoners and the way ME countries treat there prisoners.  Nope...no wire being used to whip people in US.  No electrical shocks applied to the genitals.  No jailors using hot clothes iron or power drills.

people argue that by torturing you only get out of them what you want to hear.  However, by throwing cotton balls and stays at club fed, this doesn't get us the answers either.

any suggestions that would appease the hippies saying that we are too hard on the poor little terrorists and yet still get us the info we need to fight the broader war and prevent people from dying in their attacks?

You have to ask them nicely, if they won't tell you anything, they obviously don't know anything, so you let them go .

Thing is interrogation is meant to be hard on people, seeing as that's the best way to make people break. The reason you won't hear of interrogation or torture of terror suspects caught in Indonesia is simply because the media isn't down their throats 24/7.

People who were identified as Taliban/Al Qaeda members by poor Afghanis enticed by American $$$ (which we palleted into the country as cold, hard cash) should be treated with "certain unalienable rights" (you know, the same ones we afford US Citizens not named John Walker Lindh).

Or you (ignorant people on these forums) could just keep promoting blindly labeling anyone the US "extraordinarily renders" as a terrorist and lock him up with no trial date and no charges.

If you want to know why they're so successful try a google search for 'Indonesia Human rights'.
Actually, no.  Those issues are largely in occupied territories.  The reason that they've had so much success is police work.  Indonesian and Australian authorities have worked together, built the evidence, arrested the terrorists, and taken them to court.  It's that simple.
Indonesia actually has a long history of oppression, poverty, and general malaise.  Hell, as Americans, we know....  We funded the brutal dictator Suharto for fuck sake....

When you have an environment conducive to oppression, it's much easier to detain people and inadvertently thwart terror.

I would guess this was probably the guiding principle behind the Patriot Act over here in America.

...How?

I don't feel any spridget of protection from ANYTHING by the US.

Not much comfort if it's the US I'm worried about.

And I'd pay to see Captainspaulding survive a week in Abu Grhaib.
