...without crashing.

The other day I was running a program that checks the extremes my system can go to before a failure point is reached.

During the test my CPU temperature was reading around 105 C.
I'm not sure if this is normal so whats the highest non-fatal temperature your computer has reached?

Lol.  I just used it to test my max CPU and GPU overclocking speeds.  Still, I could have boiled water off my CPU.

79C. Thermal Paste had cracked and was broken. A new layer, complete with pre-alcohol swabbing, brought it down to 29C.

hottest my GPU has gotten would be around 70C. as soon as i got my liquid cooling set up, it never goes over 39C full load.

My Intel C2D went up to 65C on stock cooling and then i got a better heatsink/fan and it never goes above 48C

my x1900xt went up to 110° when I tried out passive cooling. Obviously atitool-stress test + x1900 + passive cooling is not a good idea. Now that I have a 92mm fan on it the max it goes is 60°C
I <3 thermalright heatsinks

EDIT: I once had my opty 170 break 75° on an attempt to get to 3.2 GHz @ 1.65V (+0.3V). Fried it but managed to RMA it, only to get a better stepping

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

105*C? What CPU do you have? I'm seriously betting that was a faulty reading. I doubt any CPU can get to 105*C and not fry.

As for my system, graphics card never goes over 55*C at full load, and the CPU is around 38*C, 45*C at full load.

RAM is OC'ed to 890MHz and the voltage at 2.0 and it is warm to the touch (wish there were sensors for RAM).

w....w....w....w....WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

105C!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your lucky your fucking transistors didn't melt together.

By failing they mean BURNING UP, not just restarting and being better again.

I wouldn't even want my ficking video card at 105C

lol...many of you are going a little over the top. Yes high temperatures will lessen the lifetime of many of your parts, or cause them to fail, but they aren't going to break down and catch fire at most of these temperatures. This stuff is pretty sturdy heat wise.
