Hai!

Ive been looking at parts to build a completly new computer with to replace this old one im using, since it will be the first one I build from parts ive chosen myself I could use some adivce on different parts and so on. Ive chosen some parts myself to begin with, feel free to point out any bad hardware that I could change and so on, also point out why since I do wanna learn a bit aswell. Thanks beforehand.

Gfx card - EVGA GeForce 8800 Ultra KO SILENT 768MB, http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.p … =MB-002-EA

PSU - Fortron/Source Epsilon 700W, Blue Fan, Active PFC, ATX/EPS, SLI, 20/24pin, http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=315686 (swedish site link, couldnt find one in english)

Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … =CP-128-IN

HD - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB, http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.p … =HD-084-SE

I think those are the most important parts i guess, feel free to point out anything ive missed aswell.
Havent chosen any RAM yet since i cant really pick out one of the various speeds and makers so feel free to tip me on a good RAM aswell.

As I said before, thanks beforehand to any tips I may recieve.

That's a DoD budget right there!

If you ask me, it would make more sense to get an 8800GTS or GTX and overclock it, then use the savings on another 2 gigs of RAM.

whats up moneybags!  don't tell me your gonna run that beast (the ultra) on a simple 19" monitor,  do you have a 24 or 26"?  right now if you don't have a huge monitor then ain't that gpu just overkill right now?  name one game right now that a 8800gts or gtx for that matter won't run through?

Yeah, that's another thing; if you get an 8800GTS that leaves a fair amount of moolah for a good 22" screen.

Yeah im gonna get a new 22" monitor aswell or 24" depends. Also, ive got a bigger budget but i set it at max 1700 pounds since i dont wanna be spending to much cash so the extra RAM i will prob get since im gonna run vista (cry) with this new comp.

Been glancing quite a lot at this monitor aswell so ill prob get it http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … =MO-050-SA
