I had all sorts of hell finding the SLI settings on Vista after coming to the realization that it may not automatically work after installing.  After searching my PC for the SLI settings and determining that there weren't any, I spent a few hours searching the web for the answers.  I found them and hopefully this guide can help some of you and maybe save you some time as well.

Step 1:  Download drivers.

You have to have a specific set of drivers for SLI to work in Vista.  This is where I made my mistake because Vista will automatically download drivers upon an install....but only for one card.  It even appears as if all is well and working in the device manager because both cards will appear to have current drivers and both will show to be working correctly, and they are, just not in the SLI sense of "correctly".

You just need to go to this link.......: http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

......and select Graphics Driver>your cards series (i.e. 6/7/8 series)>Windows Vista 32 or 64bit.

This will take you to the download page.  The link is at the bottom of the page.  Click and download.

Step 2: Install Drivers and Configure SLI.

Once the drivers have downloaded, install them and then your computer will ask you to reboot.  Once you have rebooted, go into Start>Control Panel and you should have a new icon called Nvidia Control Panel.  Double click that icon and it will bring up the display properties.  Expand the 3D Settings box on the left side of the window and then select Set SLI configuration.  This is where you enable SLI.  Just select Enable SLI and then select your monitor type (either CRT or LCD) and your computer will display a few messages followed by a request to restart.

Reboot and your done!!  Your now rollin with some SLI on your Vista box.

So what you're saying is: if my shoe's untied, I should tie it?

Or maybe I just don't get the joke.

Maybe we're not on the same track, but "to make your shit work, install drivers" doesn't sound all that enlightening to me.  No offense.

I gave up on SLi w/ vista. I went back to XP.  When i first installed Vista there wanst even any support for SLI w/ DX9 cards.  I had some beta drives that allowed it, but performance was still sub par.  I went back to XP...

Well the thing was, as you may have noticed with the poster above, is that the drivers were not out on any of the beta versions RC1 and RC2, and I don't believe they have been out long on the Full Version.  This has led people to believe that Vista does not support SLi or that SLi just doesn't work on Vista, which obviously, is false.

Since Vista hasn't supported SLI, and the drivers were non-existent, I wrote this guide to show people where to get them and how to install and configure the SLI components.

Is that ok with you, your royal fucking highness?
