FINALLY                           Two more new pictures!

After countless amounts of problems; changing components, RMA'ing, the lot - my computer is now just about working!

Final Specs

Motherboard Asus P5K Deluxe WIFI-AP
CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 @ 2.67Ghz
Power Supply Thermaltake  750W Toughpower
Cooler Zalman CNPS9700
RAM Crucial Ballistix PC28500 @ 1066Mhz
Graphics BFG NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX OC2 : Core-626, Memory-2000
Sound Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Platinum - Fatal1ty Champion Series 7.1

All of these pictures have the first motherboard I had in which I got 2 faulty ones of. - When my new one came I was too annoyed to take more pictures. And yes I know the RAM is not positioned in dual-channel - I changed it after!

(After all my problems I was feeling pretty emo - so I bought myself a new G5 and a Steelseries S&S Steelpad! )

About £1100  (British pounds)

That's not including case and hard drive.

I wish I could look inside my PC and take pictures like that. Too bad I have a fan mounted to the side of the case, and it would be impossible to put it back on.

Anywho, nice job on putting it together, glad it all worked out for you in the end. Happy gaming!

Where did you get the mouse from, I tried finding it a while ago but didn't know where to look!

I'm glad you got it going, its sooooo easy to overclock it aswell, especially with a nice heatsink like that....is it quiet?

I got my mouse from Amazon (the UK site).

Yeah....bring on the overclock!

I'm not sure which way to do it though....the mobo came with some great software for really easy overclocking but I know it's supposedly 'better' doing it in the bios.

Hmmmm

Trust me all you have to do is up the multiplier to x10 (I think thats what yours is) then up the FSB, whatever FSB x 10 is is your speed. Easy as!

This is the software I've got - PC Probe II (for monitoring) and AI Suite.

Both Asus software that came with the mobo.

I don't know if AI Booster is reliable or not, but if you want to do it that way just up the CPU frequency to 300 and you'll have 3GHz CPU, after that I'd go up in 5 or 10 spacings to make sure everything is fine.

nice.

But I think it would be better if you had the sound plugs below the ROM, that way the cords won't get in the way of the drwer.

Will it be ok to put it straight up to 3GHz or should I do it in steps up to that?

What temp should I try and keep the CPU at (so I know what to set the fan speed at)?
