I was wondering.....in this stage of the game....would it be worth making a new map for BF2? I can see where there could be several infantry type city maps made for the expansion packs (AF and EF) but the best would be for a PLA city map. There are some very good ideas here in the forums. I wonder if EA would even back other people....maybe make a map making contest of it....to the public map makers to build a map and make it part of the series/ranked.
Instead of making a pretty basic map (Highway Tampa) that a lot of BF2 mappers could make. Why not involve the community and get some nice new maps to play on. I think it would generate a lot more interest back into BF2 to see what people could create. In the end, the maps could be played on (beta tested), people could vote and the winners would be included in a new map pack (5-10 of the top vote getters) to be ranked. That would be good for EVERYONE. You get new maps for players to play on, EA doesn't have to do anything but promote it (voting, screenshots and beta testing approval) and it would involve everyone in the community putting some life back into this game. Everyone could really feel a part of this.
Couldn't hurt, could it!!! I'm pretty new here, so if this has been discussed before, then I apologize but I hope the community could breathe some more life into an idea like this. Public involved, EA involved, new map pack and everyone smiling.......what do you think?
