Monitor #1- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6824001094

Monitor #2- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6824001236

Which monitor should i get? i will be using for gaming bf2, cs:s and other types of games and also for web browsing and what not. Im not sure exactly what the contrast ratio does but maybe if someone could explain to me any big differences between the two besides their response times of 5ms and 2 ms and their screen size.

I'd say the 216bw.

216bw, because $50 for 2" is a pretty good deal.

Whatever, either way, it's still a nice deal. I got my 22" when it first came out for about $380 (it's also the 225bw, not 226), so that's a great deal either way.

Just make sure the color is 8 bit, not 6bit alot of the new 22" monitors are 6bit and look blurry, Id go with a 20 inch or 24

That's not down to the colour depth. Just poor panel quality. Samsung tend to do very nice panels - I think all their newer ones have true 8-bit per channel not just 6-bit with dithering - I could be wrong on that though. The larger of those two has a response time that suggests it is maybe some type of PVA panel (too quick (and cheap) to be any sort of IPS, a bit on the slow side to be a a new TN panel, so since it's Samsung, probably a PVA - though it's hard to find out, it doesn't say anywhere on the manufacturer specs), whereas the smaller one is certainly a TN panel, which will typically have worse colour reproduction, smaller viewing angles and overall poorer image quality.

Me thinks the 226bw PWNS ALL.
