Seriously whats the dilly difference?
meh. Fanboys.
Just a personal favourite, used to like AMD more cause of thier kickass Athlon64s but with Intels Core 2's and since the purchase of ATI by AMD, Intel has been owning ever since. IMO AMD should never have bought ATI, now their card sux too. But im no fanboy, just going with whoevers better.
Same as JaMrulezass, I go with whatever is better.
Same here I'm just worried if everyone goes Intel, AMD will die and we will be left with pretty much monopoly for CPU's which stifles innovation.JaMrulezass wrote:

yeah but I think a lot of people still buy AMD processors also Barcelona is coming out in August so AMD might revive its self again
He he, I´ve done a poll about AMD vs. Intel July 2006. Guess the results...
Personally I like AMD CPU´s much more, but nowadays the Intel´s are just faster/better, fullstop.

I really hope so, it also seems that Nvidia is ass raping ATi . Don't get me wrong ATi have good budget cards but high end stuff Nvidia win hands down according to all the benchmark tests. Lets hope AMD and ATi pull their fingers out their bums and put some pressure on the current market leaders.blademaster wrote:

AMD wont be able to reach Intel this year, neither next year as far as I´ve read in several mags, sites. Lets seen when those quad AMD thingys appear (and run propperly).
Sure do hope AMD got something up their sleeve, otherwise were doomed as consumers.Sl4y3r wrote:

True, but how much are those? Have you seen any of them run in a real system?!cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

The guys at Toms Hardware.de tested one, but noticed that you cant compare it to any system aviable right now because of the used hardware.
So lets wait.
Heard pricing is around 600 usd to 700 usd.Sl4y3r wrote:

Personally, I prefer AMD. However, this is ironic because there is an Intel Core 2 Duo chip in my computer. The fact of the matter is, you should always just go with what is better and never get attached.
I'm very excited about Barcelona core.

Right now, Intel's doing better but only by a little bit. When the Barcelona comes out, it might just blow the C2D's and even Core 2 Quad away.
Depending on the price, that is.

I prefer Intel, however I DO NOT wish death to AMD. There is nothing wrong with AMD.
AND if AMD went bai bai, then my sad lil Celeron D would cost $350

Like most of the guys said, what ever is best at the given time and what I need it for. Certainly for gaming rigs right now, Intel all the way, but I am looking forward to AMD's AM3 and intels 45nm chips (penryn right?).
Just a price performance thing, the fact you can buy a E6320 and OC it to beyond 3GHZ on stock, and beat amds flagships dual core 6000 (that costs like twice as much), really doesnt bode well for a competitive market.

You probably mean Yorkfield, Penryn is going to be for laptops I think - could be wrong there though.Bell wrote:
