It would be nice to have better weapon sounds. Dice should of thought about this when they developed it but what has been done is done.

- EA and Dice should make better weapon sounds for BF2
Are you kidding me or something? Everyone loved the gun sounds at the start. And you know what? This thread would probably still be here after 2 years of BF2 even with the cool gun sounds.link52787 wrote:

Ok this probably wont work but cant somebody make it so that the PR sounds will work on Bf2? or would that fuck with punkbuster?
OR I'd download weapon noises that swear. A different swear for each gun.
Shit Shit Shit - 3 round burst of M16.
Fuck - USMC pump shotgun
I have nothing against PR, I DO however have something against the PR whores who scream "PLAY PR IT'S BETTER THAN BF2"DeathUnlimited wrote:
Lol wut? PR is a mod for bf2, it is more BF2 than ins mod! And it has cooler sounds, do you have something against PR particularly or what?killaer wrote:

It obviously won't happen in BF2, so people are saying PR has better noises.
What more do you want us to say?

Nobody said that BF2 should change. People like the OP just wants the weapon sounds to sound better. I play PR and I like the sounds better than BF2.
Well, I go 75:25 BF2 PR and honestly, one of the best parts of PR is the weapon sounds. Sure, the BF2 sounds may be *like* their actual counterparts, but PR gives the feel that you're actually doing something.
Fire an M16 in BF2- what do you hear? "put put put"
Fire an M16 in PR - what do you hear? "BANG BANG BANG"
I don't mind BF2 having the sounds it does now, but if they had been something like PR, it'd be alot better.

I think you miss the point. everyone's throwing things out there, because there isn't much to derail. New sounds?killaer wrote:

Oh, and please no PR whores in this thread. I'm talking about BF2, not PR.

Yes
No
won't happen
.....is about all you can say. I'm not trying to be a dick, ima just sayin'.
Just hearing the words Project Reality is music to my ears... Not so much with Battlefield 2... That's your metaphorical way of saying PR's weapons are better than BF2s...
I was curious if it would be possible to replace first person sounds like the 50 cal on a FAV with the third person sound on the FAV...
Take the tank for example, right click to fire the machine gun and it sounds like crap but go into third person and it's fun to listen to...
I've always thought most sound effects in BF2 were terrible compared to America's Army myself...

I have used a good portion of the guns featured in BF2 in real life and i must say they sound nothing like the sort.
i understand that we can`t have 160+ db sounds every time the trigger is pulled, but some realism would be nice.
For instance the G36C is loud as hell IRL or the .50 its fucking painful to your ears to fire one of those bad boys IRL.

Exactly... reason why... too many bugs in Bf2 or 2142.. god know what will happen when DICE tries to make things better only for things to fall apart.LT.Victim wrote:

Besides, it will suck up soooo much bandwith, everyone is going to lag.
I see the discussion is still ocurring?LT.Victim wrote:

Quality of sound effects has nothing to do with bandwidth at all...specialistx2324 wrote:

lol then u shot from a toy gun, u can even youtube some bf2 guns and see that what u are saying is load of craploubot wrote:
The weapon sounds in BF2 are the actual sounds the weapons make in real life. The AK's do make the loud popping sounds while the M-16 makes a cracking sound. My past experince, I am impressed with the realism put into BF2. If you want Hollywood sound effects keep praying for a Steven Segul computer game.
if you are handy with your keyboard and know how to code, you could make a bf2 hack to change the sounds that weapons make, because that's the only way to do it without making a mod...
Want real gun sounds? Go to Compton at night. Bf2 < Compton2
yal are idiots... there was a video on uniquepeek.com that conststed of only the sound of guns firing from bf2 and it kicked ass so stfu!!!!!!!!!

Let me correct you... most of the gun reports in BF2 are awful. They do NOT sound like the real gun, or they are poorly made versions of the real sounds. the sounds in bf2 are mostly artificial, not really captured from the real gun, so they don't sound right
and besides, we're not saying some of the weapons can sound cook in certain ways, but compared to the real things they do not sound good...
BF2 has other problems or bugs to be resolved before this sound problem no???
On BF2 the 3 most pathetic sounding guns are the:
- MG36
- M4
- L85A1
