from what i remember the full auto capabilities were there for CQC aspects that the M16 couldnt deal with because of length and burst fire.
what are they using now that actually fires full auto, besides squad mgs?

i thought the mp5 was the CQC choice...
It happened when the M4 went into mainstream use. I can't remember the year. We were taught to even use single well aimed shots in mount and cqc and yes, only the SAW is full auto.Parker wrote:

SAW is my baby. especially the para saw's they give us now. with the collapsable stock and the shortened barrel. i think the M16 is longer than a SAW now
