That's an odd analogy....  I think desperation is really the only reason why people go to such trouble to get here.  For the majority of people in Mexico, life is shit compared to life here.  If Mexico was in better shape (or if America was only marginally better), then this wouldn't be an issue.  Even as open as we are with immigration, there are still more people in Mexico that want to work here than can be legally allowed.  So, yeah, they do what they can to get in.

It's a shitty situation, but we have to be practical.  We need a better fence and better enforcement of our laws.

Look it takes some illegals a few years to loosly learn english. For fucks sake i learned loose dutch in a hour last week. Enough to get by in the netherlands.

The America/Mexico border has the highest wage dispairity in the world, so its really no surprise that they want to come here.  The issue I have is that Mexico has the capacity to become a first world industrial power, but because of rampant corruption it has not, and the people of Mexico seem to favor the easy fix of jumping the fence rather than trying to repair their own country.

As for the overpopulating issue, America, and the world in general, needs to instate and enforce some sort of stabilizing measures.  The Earth simply cannot support 20 billion people, no matter how efficient your farms are.  The replacement rate is 2.1 children per family (at least in developed countries) and that is what we should adhere to, 2-3 children, no less, no more.

You're right, but they are already in absolute poverty. And when I hear democrats talking about lifting off poverty in America. I think, well there wouldn't be as poor of people if every time they got a pay check they popped out a few more.

FACT- You cant get out of being poor if you keep having kids every time you earn money.

I think it's a hangover from the old concept of 'have lots of kids so they can go out and earn for the family while you are still alive and look after you in old age'. It's a stupid mindset but it seems to still exist. It's not just non whites who are guilty of this, there are plenty of WHITE trash out there doing it.

Good points...  Mexico really is sad in that respect, but we similar trends in India and Pakistan.

The population thing is very disturbing.  The good news is that there will be plenty of demand for migrant labor in the aging out countries of Europe, but unfortunately, several birth rates are accelerating well beyond what is necessary for sustainability.

1) Instead of the immigration place checking out obvious places like fast food restaurants for illegals, they decide to wait until someone calls them.
2) Companies have no incentive to hire legals so they make their policies super lax and illegals can come back easily


We really need some politicians in office who actually give a damn about the country and its citizens and will do something about all this. That's why if "elected" officials wont' do anything, we need to do something. Protest, boycott, even another Revolution a la the 1700s. Something will have to be done about this. Back in the 1700s colonists were sick of the way they were being treated by the government at the time so they rose up and fought and took things into their own hands and things turned out great. Now the cycle is repeating itself...

Yeah, our roads are great down here, but our pre-college education blows.  The illegals actually compose a large portion of our road construction crews, and they seem to do a decent job.  Still, I have to wonder if maybe it would be better to have the government build roads instead of private companies.  If government labor did it, illegals wouldn't be on the crews for obvious reasons.

Speak for yourself, they tore up central avenue, ran out of money, and left it that way for 3 years...

151st street was resurfaced so badly it had to be redone.

Harlem avenue is slowly sliding into the forest preserve.

Thats just for starters.

This is in Illionis, and our road crews are government people, give me corporations any day, they'll do it right, the first time.

Still can't believe our Governor got reelected...
