In general you should never go on 'on-paper' specs - on paper #1 looks the better system, but I'd not be surprised if it did actually go #2's way.

Actually, [REB]Qrite - I take you have access to the two machines? - could you 3dmark them both for us?

well actually, my computer is #1, and his is #2. He lives about 4 houses down the street. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have 3dmark, so he is going to have to download it or he can wait until I get home for me to give it to him. But for now, the world lies in wait of the most important question of mankind: Who's computer is better?

But other than MB, and HD Which has the least to do with performance of all parts. I can deal with slower load times so long as my FPS is still good. Not to mention Raptors wear out faster than the caviars.

Case: a case is a case, but in this case, case one wins because of the larger power supply (and the box of goldfish next to it)
Videocard: Im not to knowledgeable about video cards, but I think that the 7800GTX may beat out the 7900GS. not sure on this though.
Processor: Like someone else said, I think the AMD FX-57 beats out the core 2 duo if the core 2 isnt overclocked, but still close.
MoBo: I go with the brand I trust, and that is Asus, I always buy from them and never had any problems
HDD: #1 takes the cake on this one
Soundcard: obviously....

Verdict: #1 pulls out on top, with #2 right on its heels
