Moreover. I could never vote for fucking John Kerry and that smug prick Edwards.

Exactly! i should have posted <sarcasm> tags so it would be more clear my intentions. Everyone touts Gore as being an intellectual but he's no more an intellectual than any other elected public official. does he hold advanced scientific degrees? why is he such an expert on global warming?ReTox wrote:

With all due respect I think Gore would have been a much better leader than this guy.
FYI - The Internet was created by the US goverment/military back in the 40's. It wasn't called the Internet but it eventually became ARPANET whch evolved into the Internet. And Gore had fuck all to do with it. All he did, just like Clinton, was throw around some buzz words and convice people they "led the charge" when in truth their contribution (if you can even call it that) was inifinitely negligable.
Good PR maybe but absolutely no contribution to its creation.
gore 'inventing the internet' claim: http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/stories/ … cript.gore
here's a snippet (such crap comes out of this guy's mouth)!
BLITZER: I want to get to some of the substance of domestic and international issues in a minute, but let's just wrap up a little bit of the politics right now.
Why should Democrats, looking at the Democratic nomination process, support you instead of Bill Bradley, a friend of yours, a former colleague in the Senate? What do you have to bring to this that he doesn't necessarily bring to this process?
GORE: Well, I will be offering -- I'll be offering my vision when my campaign begins. And it will be comprehensive and sweeping. And I hope that it will be compelling enough to draw people toward it. I feel that it will be.
But it will emerge from my dialogue with the American people. I've traveled to every part of this country during the last six years. During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system.
During a quarter century of public service, including most of it long before I came into my current job, I have worked to try to improve the quality of life in our country and in our world. And what I've seen during that experience is an emerging future that's very exciting, about which I'm very optimistic, and toward which I want to lead.

If we don't attempt to get involved, then we are blasted for ignoring them. If we do get involved, we get blasted for interfering/occupying/killing.
I bet that Bush got sick and tired of the UN's attitude (if you don't comply, i'll write you a letter telling you how angry i am) and decided it was time for action against terrorism. Honestly, we need to root out Fascist Islam before it destroys the rest of the world. The US and some of its allies see this very clearly - unfortunately, many in the world are still asleep to this threat. wake up.
i'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees.
NOTE: good US has done around the world? search for tsunami aid. search for aid to countries hit by earthquakes, etc. Charity contributions by Americans, etc.
we need to root out Fascist Islam <-- hmm there i agree.
search for tsunami aid. search for aid to countries hit by earthquakes, etc. Charity contributions by Americans, etc <-- just like the rest of the world do ( the free world as we call us). So US is no more or less because of the conributions
I guess i have it the same way as the most of the US people (i hope) defend our contry with every thing we can. even if the treath comes within our own boarders.

Anyway, the only one world government that will likely exist in the future will result from the economic ties between countries that form due to the power of multinational corporations.
So, if you think about it... global capitalism is furthering the interests of forming a one world government. This is why I don't trust most corporations.
Although, I'm not an anarchist either....
As for Bush, he's a neocon, which is another way of saying a "big government conservative." He budgets like a conservative, but spends like a liberal -- the worst of both worlds.
honestly fellas, wtf is up with the growing persistence to label each other. most of us can not be classified as republican or democrat anyway; these are just the groups that we fall into by default. there are a lot of 'independent republicans' and 'independent democrats' here, so i really don't see the point, especially after the today's/yesterday's accusation/label/finger-pointing threads, of trying to fit people into groups they might not be. *sigh*ATG wrote:

If I'm not mistaken, ATG said that he supports the idea of a one-world government.
That's kind of an odd view to have if you hate government. It's better that government be split into the smallest feasible parts, so that no one government has too much power. This is why it may eventually be necessary to split up the U.S. We're just too fucking powerful for our own good.
I know what you mean, Kmarion, but I took it seriously because it's important to note.
If you really hate government, you should do everything possible to fight the so-called "free trade" agenda.

I am guilty of having militant tendencies.

The only problem is that most militant people aren't exactly supportive of "positive" changes.
Whatever the case, I think you'll agree with me that our government is far too corporate at this point, right?
