What I am trying to do: I have a movie and that movie has a particular song in it that I like. Tried to searched it on limewire, torrents, sites but can’t. So I decided to rip the “sound” from the movie (which is in avi format) and edit the portion out. Note: that I am a noob this this kinda stuff.
So this is what I did:
1)using Main concept mpeg encoder 1.4; I turned the avi file into a mpeg. I hear the sound but no pictures. That’s good right? I got the sound on it own at least in mpeg format
2)Using audacity I imported the “movie.mpeg” in and saved as “movie.mp3” so I can listen on it on my mp3 player. Sadly the sound is distorted in mp3 form.
So….i failed. I am pretty sure that it can be done, ripping sound from an avi clip into mp3 format, right? Well can anyone help on what programs and steps to take on doing this? Really appreciate it.
