ORLY?

5-10 years, with some basing for decades at a minimum. At least until Iraq gets an AF that can defend the country effectively.

Did I say we were giving them warplanes?

As to the poodles comment...the French aren't playing in Iraq, so they can't withdraw.

So what exactly is an 'AF'?

Poodles = UK & Poland primarily. The French are far from poodles - they're usually stubborn self-pleasers who stick their fingers up at everybody else.

I respect Blair, but, because of him, we are now stuck there for a minimum of 30 years said Commandos: On the frontline said.

How do you tell if someone is a poodle?

Simple - ask yourself the question 'Would they have gone ahead with it if the US weren't going to bother?'.

For all members of the coaltion of the drilling I think you'll find the answer is 'no'.

well then, my guess is atleast 5 years. You can't just pull out a whole army at once, it usually goes in seperate pullbacks. Even so the taliban are trying really hard in afghanistan, and if the forces there leave, no doubt they'll go back to Iraq. These troops aren't dying in vain if that is what you were aiming for.

Afghanistan isn't ending any time soon either. Which will end first, now that's a poll!

Countries like the UK really need to learn to become independent from the USA, otherwise we will be in all sorts of arguments all around the world, even if people argue that breaking off the USA wouldn't do us any good now, since we are stuck in Iraq.

Yeah we do, but Blair is gone now so...

It's not that important though, I mean we're pretty similar countries in terms of rights and what not. It's not like following North Korea on everything they do.

I agree with you on that, but no-on wanted us to go into Iraq anyway, but Blair was scared of the USA if you ask me, i don't know what went on in those meetings... and i don't want to know.

I call Blair stupid too. And Berslusconi. And Aznar. It cost all three their political lives.
