I just bought an Antec 900 and a Corsair 620HW psu. With a p4 3.0 and 1GB of DDR RAM would it be worth grabbing an 8800 GTX? I'm planning to replace the mobo, processor and RAM in a month but the card is all I can afford right now. I'm just thinking that the bottlenecking would be so bad that I might as well wait. My p4 is also OC'd to 3.6 right now. I might go higher thanks to the new cooling.

One other question, Is it worth paying another 100$ for the 8800 GTX OC?

no, put the extra hundred towards another gig of ram

Is 4 gigs of DDR2 even necessary? What I mean by that is I won't be upgrading my DDR, when I upgrade in a month I'll probably get 2 gigs of DDR2. Along with an ASUS Commando mobo and probably a 2.4 quad core. If the price drops work out like I heard.

First of all, nice PSU! I have its little brother. I really need to know your entire specs to determine whether or not you need an 8800GTX or not. I think in your position from the things I've read, I'd go for the GeForce 8800GTS 320MB if you are running at a resolution under 1600x1200 (1680x1050 widescreen) {or either}, because that is when graphics memory really kicks in assuming you have a decent amount of RAM.

Let me clarify things a bit: right now I'm running a P4 3.0 w/ HT, 1 GB of DRR RAM, a Nvidia 6800GT, and an ASUS P5GD1 Mobo. I'm buying a new computer and building it myself. I've started off by buying the PSU and case I mentioned, and I've moved my old comp into that for now. I plan to replace my old components with (eventually) a 2.4 Intel Quad Core, 2 GB of DDR2 RAM, an 8800GTX, and an ASUS Commando mobo. Right now I'm waiting for the intel price drops/more money, and I'm wondering if I should bother buying a GTX when I only have a 3.0 Intel and a gig of RAM. (i.e., how bad would the bottlenecking be?) If I did buy the GTX I would be using it with a 17" monitor and only 1024x768 res but I'll be getting a bigger monitor with the rest of the components (probably a 22" at 1680x1050).
