What DarkRaven has outlined above is what I consider to be genuine Islam, not the warped extremist version that we get fed in the media everyday.TheDarkRaven wrote:
The Qur'an. And it doesn't implicitly state that. Indeed, Muslims accept other religions very well - the Jews and Arabs of al-Medinah sheltered Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his small group of followers as they fled the warring parties of Makkah. They were eternally in their debt, and when Muhammad (peace be upon him) managed to establish Islam as the religion of that area, they let the Jews and Christians etc. live there in peace - they were given nearly all the same rights as Muslims (protected, and such). Quite, some of Muhammad's (peace be upon him) relatives were Christian and stated that the Chrisitan prophesies (don't ask me which) were coming true in Muhammad and that he was the next messenger from God (Allah).Mitch wrote:
Well. A lot of there motivation to kill is fueled by religion. Somewhere in Allahs bible (i cant think of the name...) it says to kill those who dont follow him...
The Qur'an does not state that it is the duty of every Muslim to kill non-believers - merely that upon the day of judgement Allah shall not welcome them to paradise (their loss).
Hope this clarifies the situation.
As to the original post, Islamic terror would still exist as 'the West' - as it is known - would still be interfering and meddling in a situation it cannot comprehend. Also, CameronPoe, I thought a wise person such as yourself would realise that by stating that they are on a 'jihad', they actually aren't and so are not truly Muslims. 'Islamic terror', as you call it, does not exist - this is scaremongering (and I thought you disliked that, no?). They are outcasts who merely wish to use twisted words of a peaceful religion for their own ends.
All the best,
Andy

- Would Islamic terror exist if there was no oil in the middle east?
Poll
Would Islamic terror exist if there was no oil in the middle east?
Yes | 54% | 54% - 45 | ||||
No | 38% | 38% - 32 | ||||
*Runs behind couch cowering* | 7% | 7% - 6 | ||||
Total: 83 |
Of course. The US would still find some way of poking its nose into other country's business (and Mr Bush would still find someway to destabilise a region of the globe).
