Not sure how many of you know this but the Chinese Z10 in BF2 is based on the South-African built Rooivalk (RedHawk) I've not seen this posted here before so apologies if it has, but here it is in action

Yes, but the Agusta has the little chin gun.

I don't know. DICE probably made the thing's model up anyway.

The Chinese government was set to buy the Rooivalk as their main gunship a few years ago, in the end the deal fell through although they did manage to get a lot of "ideas" from it and the European attack choppers for their own programme called the WZ10:

As far as i know the evaluation of the RooiValk by the Chinese was round-about the same time as when BF2 was developed.

While it is commonly speculated that Eurocopter is giving a lot of technical help to the Chinese on this project, there are obvious technical differences between the Rooivalk and the A129 or the Tiger. The WZ-10 which is obviously still in somewhat of a prototype stage (as far as we know) has been shown to include a 5 blade rotor system vs 4 on all the others in question, it also appears to be using a ballistic separation on the tail rotor paddles much like the Apache.

It is obvious to me that the A129 is not the base of the WZ-10 simply due to the fact that the rotor system of the Mangusta turns counter-clockwise (like the Blackhawk, Apache, Rooivalk Ect.) while the WZ-10 turns clockwise like the Eurocopter Tiger and all Russian Mil helicopters. if you look at the orientation of the tail rotor on the WZ-10 vs the A129 it becomes pretty obvious, and the Chinese would not re-engineer the entire rotor system and flight control system to accomplish this.

the WZ-10 is probably a combination of a few different design concepts from the Rooivalk and Eurocopter Tiger but with some home grown Chinese engineering as well.

Given the Chinese penchant for Russian equipment I don't know why they just didn't buy a shitload of these and call it good.

Possibly the most dangerous rotorcraft on the planet, well the coolest at least

OMG, I HAS THE MICRO MACHINES VERSION OF THAT!

I remember using my M1 to attack the base in the playset, then having the toy soldier steal it from those damned Commies/terrorists.

Export marketing name was originally Werewolf, but changed to Black Shark by 1996.
