- What gun should the US Military adopt as a replacement to the M16/M4?

Redeemer pwns everything.
Forget the M-60! I had to haul around that piece of trash. I would take the M240B any day. I will take a couple more pounds for a better ROF and a LOT better reliability.usmarine2005 wrote:

Well, H&K weapons are VERY good, but they are not a German company any more. However, they are a bit overly complex.[pt] KEIOS wrote:

..but wait... us soldiers don´t want to be flamed in iraq for using unlocks... ok... let them all have AK

..............yes yes...that is why we use airsoft guns/pistols/ rifles to shoot at each other....k30dxedle wrote:
I used to know a guy who thought my airsoft gun (6mm) shot harder than an M16 (5.56mm) because "the bullets were bigger".

The tavor is pretty nice. While the built on sight is good for speed and zero-retain, I can imagine that being a pain point for many who would say "what if I want another optic?"

only fun I had with a 60 was in basic training. when I got my unit it was 240's. havent seen a 60 since 2000. 240B is a monster. great weapon. along the m16/m4. Its served us well for the last 40 years.imortal wrote:

Paintball guns so they don't blow up/kill any more alliance forces :p
H&K are German again. Were bought of Royal Ordinance about a year or two ago I believe by a consortium of German companies.imortal wrote:

I think they should get the Diemaco C7, or TAR-21, not sure about the TAR though, i havent tryed it.
But i shot hundreds (if not thousands) with the Diemaco, and never had a problem with it, its a very reliable rifle build in Canada on license from Colt. but way better than the yank M16.
Its fully automatic and comes standard equipped with a Optical 4x scope.

Hey, I was just teasing. Yes, HK definately has a European flair that American firearms do not have.[pt] KEIOS wrote:

The American Armed Forces should have switched to the XM8 series. I know the production of them has been cancelled, but they looked wicked bad!

(Not the first time over that clip! can't wait to repeat that scene in Crysis!)
This

or that

or that

H&K 416 - Replaces the M4's and M16's of those who already have had training with M16's.
H&K G36 - New issues assault rifles for new recruits who have no experience with the M16's.
I'm so good, I think about those who complain the G36 looks NOTHING like an M16 and would rather have a rifle that looks familiar and trustworthy...
H&K Weapons don't jam often, the only thing i can think of right now thats WRONG with it, is that for the G36, if you fire blank rounds you might have a problem, and if you have timed field striping, part of the gun might get damaged.
