I have a niece who loves fish, so I'm walking through the electronics section of Wal-Mart and see some cheap ass aquarium screen saver. Buy it, take it home, and install just to test it out. You can either make it your screen saver or your desktop, so I test both. They work just fine, besides a quite annoying bubble sound, and crappy graphics compared to what was printed on the box.

I try to change my desktop back to original but I can't, so I ctrl+alt+delete and just end the screen saver desktop process. It ends but my background turns white, then orange, then white again. So I uninstall the program, delete all the other files from the harddrive, then do a registry cleanup and remove all traces of the program. Restart. Desktop is still the same. Attempting to change the desktop image to anything doesn't work. I've tried a system restore for every day up to seven days before the install, but each restore has failed. There are no viruses, trojans, etc. and everything with the computer is working just fine. I just have a desktop that flashes from white to orange every couple of minutes. On a sidenote, the actual desktop picture shows up when I go to restart or shutdown, and shows up when windows starts... but as soon as the icons appear the screen goes back to orange.

Please help.

i have no idea where to even start......maybe reformat?
but that is a lot of shit to go through........for one thing i would definitely contact the company that made it, and express your displeasure.
hope you get it figured out, good luck.

I've fixed something like this before....

But I can't remember how I did it (although I remember fumbling around trying to get it done). I think it had something to do with editing files within Windows\System32\ - but I'm really not sure. Fiddling around with custom desktops and stuff is not something I do a lot of.

If I remember anything, I'll be sure to let you know. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Try to put your background off, and then apply, does it become black/blue, whatever neutral color you have?

Nope. Just the changing orange and white.
