Anybody got any suggestions for a good but cheap microphone?
u mean headset, or just a mic?
If it works i'll use it, I already tried some sort of headset in the mic port but it made the sound card act retarded so I had to reinstall drivers and all the other necessary software (what a pain in the ass) so I need suggestions of mics/headsets that will actually work.Computer_Guy wrote:

A headset is the way to go. I only use it for the mic, but it makes it so much easier that you don't have to move.
try this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6836111601
I have this desktop mic and its pretty good.
It uses a USB port.
So it shouldnt screw with the sound card.

So far, that USB one looks the best. I think I saw a 3.5mm version of it on Newegg somewhere, which is what I am looking for in particular.
Its the best choice and i got em. it REALLY makes a differenceXblade-3o5- wrote:

I'd like to but unfortunately I don't want to spend more than 50$ on a sound system until I get a job.Computer_Guy wrote:

I bought a bog standard LEDTEC one for £10 and it is actually pretty amazing quality - especially for £10!
Before this discussion goes any further (which it has) ,it's possible that the sound card is defaulted for thinking your mic port is "line-in" I went through the same confusion on my x-fi so it's worth looking into._j5689_ wrote:
