To answer your questions:

1. We don't have avatars, sorry.
2. Click the profile button (to the left of your 'Karma'), then go into Personality. From there, you can add your signature.

Judging by your name, it looks like you are interested in photoshop and sig-making, so be sure to check out THIS section of the forums.

to have a sig you go on profile, then choose personality and then you have to get the code for a picture and put it in there, or just type if you want writing

you give someone karmaz for doing something good/funny/nice etc. you used to be able to take karmaz away from people being nasty/unfunny/pedophilic etc but you cant as it was abused (which fits well with the pedophile bit)
