There are some weird things in the world happening if we talk about ideologies.
For example: Russian neo-nazis?? WTF, that doesn't make sense, nazism is about killing the slavic people or reduce the to slaves for the "superior" arian race. If russians (or poles, any other of slavic people) are neo-nazis they are against themselfs!!
It's just another case of people who don't know where the ideologie is standing for. They think it's about white people, but it isn't.
It makes me a bit mad.
Why do they believe in such an ideology that is against them?? Do they really don't know the truth??

"Nazi" is just the shortform for "nationalist".

I knew this idiot in high school who claimed to be a neo-nazi but was Jewish. He claimed I didn't know what the fuck I was talking about when I tried to explain the whole Holocaust thing.

'Nazi' is actually short for Nationalist Socialist' (in the German language, of course).

Nazi stands for "Nationalsozialismus" or in english "National Socialism". And being a nazi is standing for more than being a nationalist.

That's true, but that's not changing my point; there can be nazis in every country on this planet.

The word "Nazi" stands for national socialst, like you said. Nothing less nothing more.

Being a nationalist doesn't make you a "nazi", neither does the bald head of a bonehead. It is about believing "superiority of the arian race", being a anti-semetist, Arians should rule the world, other races are minor,.... and other of that crap bullshit talk

Of course the word Nazi nowadays means more to us, due to history, than just "national socialist". But basically it's nothing else. It's just a word for national socialst.

Edit: So when you are a national socialst (no matter in what country), people can call you a nazi. Period.

what i hate is how people call countries communist when there not even close to a communist state there should be no class system in a communist country everyone should get what they need and equal amount of luxuries. But i cant blame most people because i dont think they were taught the truth about communism ideologue Karl Marx's communism.

That's true, i hate that too because it aren't communism countrys. communism is something good, a ideologie that would free the normal people. It is sad that its name is abused for som dictatorships. a real shame

Of course, I heard about it. And it's illegal to sell it here in germany.

I just wanted to make clear in my prior post that words are just words. And the word "Nazi" in it's soucre, is just a
bad politcal attitude. What hitler/ the nazis made out of it is another horrible thing.

Yes, the Communist Manifesto... Fuck me that's a hard book to get through. Economic theory was boring enough in class...

Oh and not many people use fascism properly either.

Just about the only place on Earth where it's possible to get Mein Kampf easily is Israel, and that's an extensively annotated and modified version from what I've heard.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

Don't even get me started on crazy Russians...

Coincidentally, I was having a beer with a sociology professor at the local university here this weekend (one of the few fellow Americans in this town besides the batshit stupid Mormon evangelicals) where we were discussing this very topic.  He pointed out that "Nazism" in WW2 was not just a particularly "German" thing.  Many Russian states or puppet states, including Romania and Ukraine, looked towards the Germans as a source of supply and material for the various pro-nationalist and anti-communist (and anti-semetic) groups rebelling against Stalin.  The Waffen SS even fielded a British division (made up of 15 or so people), along with a several full strength French, Dutch, Polish, Scandinavian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Greek, and even Ukrainian divisions.  Many regular people in these countries honestly perceived the Nazi's as some kind of saviors, and their kids joined the Nazi armies in droves.  These all saw action in WW2 in one capacity or another.  There's even some political wrangling today as to whether Ukraine's Waffen SS veterans should enjoy the same veteran status as those that fought for the communists in WW2.

Nazi Germany could not have had so successful an occupation of most of Europe without co-opting at least a small dissaffected faction from each "host country".

Neo-Nazism is different to Nazism, characterised by pro-white rather than pro-Aryan.

That's probably more of a US thing. In Greece for example you get lots of fascist groups claiming that pure Greeks (Pelasgians) are Aryans, not mixed with other Balkan people like Turks, Albanians or Slavs. Anyway, its all BS.

When was that? Because I know for a fact that Greeks gave the nazis a pretty good fight back in the days of the war. Later of course we got nazi-nationalists too but that's a different story.

edit: soo... the bastards!!

There were plans for a Greek division, but the plan was abandoned after the Greek partisan resistance blew up the organizing party's headquarters. Many Greeks from Southern Russia, however, enlarged the divisions as Ukrainians.

So would that make the partisans "Al Qaeda in Greece" today?  One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter and all...

No, that's Neo-Nazism as distinguished from Nazism (you could still be a Nazi today, putting you at odds with a Neo-Nazi).  Anyone claiming that anyone other than Aryans are Aryans is just stupid.

That's not entirely true. Being a national socialist does not make someone a Nazi. The word Nazi is of German origins and is applied to a specific national socialist dogma, it is not universally applicable. The fact that it is an abbreviation of the German for national socialist is inconsequential.

Being a national socialist does not mean people can call you a Nazi.

In fact, whilst the Nazis were very nationalistic, they were decidedly not socialist.
