I had 0.02 Lol!
By the way, if you've never faced a real live 90 mile an hour heater from a person (not a machine) you have no idea how frightening it really is.
When I was a kid we faced a pitcher who ended up getting drafted in the second round by the Reds. He threw 92-93. I used to crowd the plate like a bitch in high school. I was near the front of the batter's box, and all the way in. One of those jerks. Anyway, first pitch this kid hums past me and I went straight to the back of the batter's box, and all the way to the outside. I couldn't have hit anything with a fucking broom. You realize in a hurry that if this 17 year old kid loses one of those BBs that you're gonna spend some time as a vegetable. The fastest I was ever clocked was 85 on a bum Juggs gun. I was really more like 82. Most high school pitchers are in the low to mid 70s. We aren't just talking about a difference of 10 miles an hour here though, we're talking an exponential difference. Every so often you'd see a kid throw 86 or 87 and that was fucking gas. I mean straight HEAT. You throw 5 mph on top of that, and it's not like a 5% difference, it's like a 500% difference. It's actually seriously frightening.
I hit about .380 that year (which for high school is average to below average believe it or not - I had the 5th best average on the team which means not great) and that motherfucker struck me out three times on nine pitches. I got three foul balls and that was it, and none of them in the forward direction. We all just sat in the dugout and said "damn..." over and over and over again. By about the 4th inning it was a big joke to see who looked worse.
If you haven't faced a live human being throwing 92+, you just can't understand how humbling and awe inspiring it is.
