a good 2.0+ C2D intel (wait for price drop i havnt seen it on enwegg yet?)
a good motherboard 775 socket with a PCIE - read all reviews

My extra 600 points on 3DMark06 say otherwise. But I was stuck getting it as I wanted the same GPU for SLi later on.

And its Sunday, mate. Let them clock in tomorrow morning.

What about the 8800 GTX 768 MB?, is that way better than the 8800 GTS, or is there not such a huge difference?

I agree with all of this but the HDDs. I would say go with a seagate 300-500GB drive and use the extra cash to get ye'self a 8800gtx. Just a random BF2s'ers opinion.

No point in listing that. UK prices are normally a lot higher that what they are in the states. So for a $1500 computer, you'd probably get the equivalent of a £900 computer.

Depends on your monitor. At higher resolutions it's a LOT better.

$1530 - but you've got more than $100 of mail in rebates that you can claim back.
