Basically whenever I play BF2 my graphics just fuck up, large area's of the screen will turn yellow and sometimes the game will stutter, its impossible to play with. I ran prime95 and did torture tests on both my ram and my processor after several hours both came out clean. I guessed it was my graphics card that was to fault so i RMA's it after a week of not having a graphics card I got the new one, same model different batch. I put it in and fired up BF2 as the drivers were all up to date from my previous one. I got the same problems, as always it turns yellow, stutters and freezes up giving me a black screen when i try to quit or at random times. I don't want to get another RMA if I'm not sure that its the card thats at fault, last time ebuyer said they tested it and it was faulty but this is a brand new card and I want to know what it is thats wrong. Oh and the problems are actually much worse on the games default settings (mostly medium) than when I set it to its highest and its only BF2 that fucks up I think I've not played anything else graphically taxing for a while but when i played company of heroes and oblivion on it it was fine. I've reinstalles BF2 and repatched before now and I've tried removing and reinstalling the drivers for my graphics. Oh and when I first got this pc in march it was fine.

please help before I end up destroying something with something else thats heavy (not sure yet but I'm thinking about the sledgehammer in the shed)

Awful PSU.
Awful RAM.

Value PSUs = fail. I can't imagine having an 8800 on one - change it immediately! Also, your RAM needs to be upgraded. That is why it is so poor, as the guy stated above about the RAM.

just a little odd i thought that it only happened with BF2

thanks for the help.

EDIT: is http://www.ebuyer.com:80/UK/product/127861 any good?

Ditto. You *CAN"T* go cheap with RAM or a PSU and 550W is pretty damn low for the system you're running. I would at least have something above 600W.

and
http://www.ebuyer.com:80/customer/produ … uid=127861

Well then. Do some more tests on it. Try updating your motherboard BIOS, and test out some more games and/or graphically taxing games. Does it happen the second you start up BF2 or does it happen after a little while of playing?

Make sure your case is moving air properly, I know those 8800's get real HOT!

have you tried using driver cleaner pro?
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745

And a bigger Antec or other reputable psu would help...

and the 8800gts is a heat monster... a graphics cooler and more fans...

also trying different versions of nvidia drivers...
Love is the answer
