I was wondering what brands I should be staying away from, or what i should be looking for...

I'm only looking to get something around a 32", what is something that would be a middle brand, not high end because i can't afford it.

Toshiba and Panasonic do good ones. Preferably Panasonic.

I've seen a lot of good reviews on the Syntax Olevia TVs anyone know anything about them or would it be just a shot in the dark for a random brand...

SAMSUNG FTW! My dad has a 50" from them, and it's like...godly. Sharp and Toshiba are pretty good right now too.

Sony currently make the best ones. The X series (other lower end Sonys are not so impressive). On the whole Samsung are one of the best. But for low price ones I'd recommend the Hanns-G (Hannspree) ones, I can't remember which is the best one, I think it might be the JT something, but I forget.

Fuck brands, it all comes from China. Go to the store and LOOK.

That's why we bought a JVC Plasma. It looked the best.

And I'm quite aware JVC is made in Japan, it was just a generalisation

We bought an LG 50" and it has been quite impressive - as well as being relatively cheap
