DAMIT, it's not a Vulcan 20mm cannon, it's a GAU 30mm cannon! 30, not 20, it's 20 + 10..20 + 10 = 30, okay!?
And RE: The cannon's recoil, according to my research, the gun's recoil is roughly half of the A-10's engine's on full power, so if the A-10's say only on half power of one of the engine's are destroyed, the yes it would slow the plane down, but if would take quite a long burst to make the plane go backwards.

I think ther modern mix is 4 high explosive shells to 1 DU shell in the A-10. The DU is just there for mass, DU is more dense then most materials and is used to penetrate a metal target, such as a tank. My guess is if anything they don't want more than 10 second bursts because you are A. probably wasting ammo already by shooting the gun an entire 10 seconds, or B. the gun is more likely overheating.Greenie_Beazinie wrote:

but i do believe that its an urban legend that the guns recoil is half the engines foward thrust power, since its such a huge gun... but depleted uranium shells , those can bust through nearly anything (by nearly i mean most things, but no a flight deck on a carrier )
Airforce guy here... ALL of our fighter and attack aircraft have tail hooks but none can land on an aircraft carrier, they dont have the suspension for it.
I am going to bet it could do significant damage to a carrier deck. Only problem is its on our side, and it flies slow, so it would never ever get the chance to get close a deck.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

A-10 seems invincible, but i think EA or someone could make it more vulnerable. sure it's hard to hit it with a stinger, but say you do, 1 hit kill? balance is the key. it can rape the sh!t outta infantry and tanks, but you could just rape it back. could stop it from being whored, i'd love to see it tho. i'd like to see a MEC equivalent of the little bird for Sharqi or The Iron Gator.

The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
30mm is not wine bottle size. Its only 1.2 inches. Very large bullet, but hardly a wine bottle.
You know graphics mean absolutely nothing when it comes to gameplay right? The graphics aren't bad for an early mod release. I don't know what type of gameplay they are going for but their best bet would be innovative in that area with flag caps or take flags out and do something completely different.War Man wrote:

Typically for an early mod release you want really basic stuff, and the graphics are good enough for that from what I see. You can always come back and redo graphics, gameplay is a bit harder to do that to, especially if you got a community of players that likes the game.
It would be nice if it mentioned the idea or the thoughts behind the game and how its going to be different. Unless its just going to have different vehicles or weapons from BF2.
Its also hard to find people really skilled to do the models, animations, skinning and all the stuff involved with making something as simple as the Vodnik to the detail level of what most consider BF2.
This is why the Attack Chopper exists. If they were doing their jobs the Tank is toast with a single TV Guided missle. Obviously no one is doing their job in this department if Tanks are taking down boats all the time.S4INT05 wrote:
