just a side note, there is a spectator mode for BF2. Some servers have it disabled, some don't. press "C" ( or whatever button you configured ) when dead and you can jump from player to player.

As far as the changes are concerned, I suggest we wait until the patch arrives. Bitching before we even know how the changes play out on the battlefield doesn't help.

then again, bitching usually doesn't help at all...

in the end, how many of those complaining right now are really going to stop playing ?

Anyway to get around I guess, people are so worried about thier stats that it made the game into a hop fest from one flag to the other, I say just deal with it and change servers, yeah it's frustrating as hell but thats how these people play. Personally I don't think there is going to be a patch to eliminate jumping, people will find a way to avoid getting shot at, it is funny as hell watching 2 squads jumping and shooting, I will start this tactic because it seems the only way to survive -- isn't that the name of the game?

my problem isnt that they are killing bunnyhopping. my problem is they are killing any jump action like nade toss medic bag toss c4 toss supply bag toss flash bang tosses AT mine tosses into a road from behind a wall..
they should somehow make it where u can stil do all those but just not shoot and jump at the same time

Not if he has a G36E the killer of bunny hopping M203 users. Plus, the new patch will affect you because unfortunately, your chopper will be much easier to take down, if they fix the AA.

i didnt say it WAS realism, ive played bf from practically day one... way back in 2002 and ive been an advocate since then... but if they are gonna have realistic bullet ballistics, then that should either infer a realistic slant throughout, or note at all. all im saying is that there needs to be a balance on which the game stands. u cant change the games foundations/cornerstones via patches. 

bunny hopping is a crime.  people who move from a - b PURELY by jumping should be embarassed.  ive seen people, with NO ONE near them, just leap about.. its ingrained into them, its almost genetic.  is this realistic? no... is it arcade? no.. its just fuckin wank.

as for red orchestra... i was one of the founders of a uk clan on ro [dbduk] til it went all arcade... they wanked over the weapon balance during patch 3.3, and i never played it again.  i had played it from v2.0 and thought it was excellent.  Devs can interfere with a game too much.

Its faster than walking after you run out of sprint energy, And i prefer not to be a easy target walking 2 mph.

As for realism, i dont think EA had realism for this game in mind when they gave pistols the accuracy of a sniper rifle.
