Stealing my idea...
I was the first to post this on bf2s, I made a search for it before I posted it.

It was way way long ago.

Was Yellow, Orange, and Reds.

I earnestly hope that one of the reasons as why people disregard my claymores is because people think they are mines or c4.
Why have they not simply color mode the hazardous devices?
For instance make the skull: green for C4, orange for mines, and red for claymores.
Am I correct in thinking that this would not be very difficult to incorporate into a patch?
Experts?
The idea of color coding is a nice enhancement and I like the "front toward enemy " arrow too. This doesn't solve the minefield stumbling TK punishment-by-noob problem and I think a patch should resolve that too.

I suggest that in the "real world" placing a minefield requires that a map be made and fields/lanes are marked at some point. The BF2 version of mapping/marking could solve TK punishment and provide a good visual identification at the same time.  Since C4 is command detonated this idea does not apply but a color code is great for this.

For Friendly Mines: AT/AP mines are placed. Next (the key) is the soldier "marks" the minefield using the "Q" menu. The markings can be mine-type specific. Once marked a small flag ring, visible to friendlies only, surrounds the field. IF the field was marked then a stumbling hero cannot punish the engineer/sniper for the mine TK. IF however the Engineer/Sniper fails to mark his field then he CAN be punished. Also once marked the minefield shows up on the minimap/HUD etc.. so the buggy speed demons can plan ahead lol

Any soldier can mark any minefield so a sniper/engineer team placing mixed minefields could make a good addition to the game.

For Enemy Mines: Any friendly soldier who spots an ENEMY minefield can "Q" menu mark it so friendlies know where to avoid. This could get a teamwork .5 point maybe....  Marking an enemy minefield does not eliminate his TK punishment, his minefield must be marked by him or one of his team mates.
