Windows Media Player Help

I cant play any videos on windows media player. I can hear the sound of the movie, but I dont see anything on the screen. This is for all types of windows media: streaming, downloaded, or even in my movies on the computer.
I checked for windows updates, and even installed windows media player again. I searched, but couldnt find anything on google or this site.

Hmmm... the first link didnt help at all, will downloading both of those make them conflict with one another?

As far as I know the pack doesn't include DivX so I put that link on too.

They won't conflict even if it did.

http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/index.htm also tells you exactly what codec the movie needs (and if the computer has it installed).

Ya, my comp is all updated and everything. That codec thing is tricky, but then again, im a noob with the computer. Its weird because only windows media does not play the videos, youtube works fine and all other streaming videos

would i need to restart my computer for these downloads to take affect? Or should they work instantly?

Okay, you should just need Standard, so get that, or if that doesn't work try a mirror.

Once you download it on your American connection (so about 1 minute), Run it.

You should be right with Profile 1, and on the last page uncheck File Associations (blue means some are checked, tick means all, unchecked means none).

As for GSpot, just open it and drag a video onto it.

back in december of 2005, I just said that because I wanted to go to sleep, so I turned it off. lol

Edit, windows media player still does not work
