Fox News (califonia) reporter called me a couple years after I got out of the military and wanted to know if I particpated in hazing ritual where I was stationed. He found out because somebody talked and give him a video. So the moral of the story is someone will talk and the truth will be know.
What's a hazing ritual?

It's not about being the only misreported death. It's about clearing this one up. Then moving on and clearing another up. And so on, and so on.
People think that if they can get the government to clear up one, they'll be able to get them to do the same with others - not that I think that's likely.

Hazing as in bullying newer soldiers.

there are a lot of things that happen in a combat zone that only those who were involved will know the real truth.  sometimes that falsehood is better than the actual truth, to the familiy of the deceased.  and its not neccessarily false.  the truth is, war is what killed Tillman.

The nearest VA hospital is 6 hours away and I think the Marine Corps veteran plates on my truck speak for themselves.

Edit.

I forgot, the remains of a VA hospital is 20 miles from my home, but it got closed down thanks to budget cuts.

Exactly.  The hazards in war are numerous and lethal.  Tillman was the poster-boy for the Army, a rising NFL star that gave up a million dollar career to fight terrorism, which the propagandists must have been drooling over. This is why the government handled the situation so piss poorly, because "they" killed one of their greatest recruiting tools not the Taliban.  It must be a nightmare for the Tillman family and for every other family that's lost a son overseas, but the fact remains that it was nothing more than a tragic accident.

friggin media is telling you what to think on this one.
Careful...you will be called disrespectful.
You're both assclowns showing how completely inept you are at being part of the human race or part of the brotherhood you pretend to be a part of.  And you call me anti-military.  But I know, I know...i can't possible weigh in on yet another topic on this forum because I've never been in combat...

Ya...I know.  And let them deal with it.  Why does everything need to become a fucking media circus?
Why does shit have to be covered up? If there is no coverup, what then?

Its really sad that you dont care...but then its your right.

Wrong - it's the opposite of what you think... the family & other parties are engaging the media - to help put pressure on the government.
i probably should have worded it a bit more carefully and or explained a bit more.
I personally would not enjoy the media coverage if this happened to someone i knew.  i understand that this guys family is actively engaging the media to help their cause *and i understand why they are doing it*

but im also thinking about how events can easily turn into ridiculous *as Usmarine says* "a fucking media circus"

see terry shiavo from a few years back
terry shiavo...a bunch of political asshats piled on contributing to the media circus. I dont see how they are the same thing. Here, the family is the one demanding the truth.
