Monitor advice needed

The monitor I was thinking about buying is listed below my system specs.

I need to know if I will run into any trouble playing games (BF2 and 2142) or if the response time of 8ms will mess me up.

I have a 19" Viewsonic w/ an 8ms response time. I havent noticed any ghosting @ 1280 x 1024, should be fine. The contrast ratio looks kinda low... Pretty good price though. I dont think you will be disappointed.

It should work fine, I'd suggest getting a 1080i monitor if possible, just for 'full HD'. Otherwise, enjoy!

It should run at 1280x720 fine

Also, prototype, you'll need this cable to connect the card to the TV

the DVI goes into your video card, the HDMI into your TV.

Thank you for all your posts so far.

At 700:1 ratio will I still be able to see snipers,claymores and other crucial details in BF2?

I see most monitors have two different contrast rations listed, DC and regular?

What does that mean?

Do people actually use HDTV as their PC monitor? I mean playing games on a console with a TV is ok, but you have to sit further away. But with a PC, where you have to sit very close and 26"?

Don't you mean 1080p?

Anyway, it won't be fine. It'll be pretty rubbish. An HDTV instead of a monitor is a bad idea.

QFT. TV's are meant to be viewed from a couple of meters away, monitors a foot or two.

No get a 22" and you will be fine. If you go to a shop like CURRYS and check the size of the TV you are talking about. You will be surprise at how big it is.

Idk where are you from, but just search for the above Monitors/TVs... I guess you are from teh US, hence the price in $
