Nice idea but I don't understand the composition...TheDarkRaven wrote:
Oh, Omni, I have a great idea (from my short story in progress, no less)!
On the top of a tower block (of apartments of some sort) in a built up area in a city. One person just falling off the edge (about 45° inclined), while two others look on (one guy and one girl - the girl herself sort of breaking away from the guy who's trying to hold her back). I'll leave the detail to you, but I suggest a rather foggy & sunny haze combined backdrop of other large buildings. Also, the girl should be trying to reach out to the falling man, and trying to get the other man to relinquish his grasp upon her. Oh, and the falling man should just be holding his hands to his chest while gazing into the distance (perhaps see a glint in his hands - such as off a ring).
Beyond that, I can't think of any more detail to this painting - ask if you need anything else to do with the story/my views on the scenery. If you could pull this painting off, I would be truly astounded.
If you don't want to do it, it's fine - you asked for suggestions!
All the best,
Andy
Give me ideas!
Take over for Sarrk in his "+1 News" Thread seeing as he pretty much gave up on it We want a Cdogmn Comic!!!
Nature is a powerful force. Those who seek to subdue nature, never do so permanently.
Dude, you know the lsd art tests the military gave back in the day? Watching how a persons sense of replication changed throughout the effects of the drug? Pick something simple like the sun, or an animal. Do it in progressive parts like left to right, as you would write on a piece of paper. Paint the same thing but in different moods, or affected states of reality, such as being drunk or whatever, maybe even just different moods, and see what comes out...I bet it ends up looking rather different each time...

I already have. Figure drawing 101, dig around the scraps in my deviant art if you really want to see it...Mr.Surgeons wrote:

That's actually a pretty cool idea, except I don't drink or do drugs... besides, I wanted to something a little more "illustrative."oChaos.Haze wrote:

why dont you go out with a camera and take some street scenes or old buildings?
Omnideath, my suggestion is detailed kind-of warped people. That's what I like drawing from time to time. Here's a really old one I did while waiting for a bus ages ago:

It's pretty bad, but like I said I was waiting for a bus at the time.

Not in town, but kinda where I am, generally when I take the bus there are fifteen minute gaps in between buses.tthf wrote:

Thanks for the compliments Jens, although like all my stuff I end up not liking it - except strangely enough my current forum pic.
I need to draw another of those weird-looking men.
