Too warm? Well, it depends how warm your airing cupboard is. But I would have thought it won't be too warm.mitch212k_2 wrote:
guys i took out all the affected keys and wiped the surface with a damp cloth - is an airing cupboard too warm to fry it or is it ok?
ty so far to the more inteligent of the posters so far
to clean it. It works. Try thinking.elite.mafia wrote:
Why the hell would you put an electrical device in the sink....
You'd be surprised to hear my cell phone survived two bouts through a washing machine before I lost it.elite.mafia wrote:

Seriously this is one of the stupidest posts I've seen in a long time.
You not gonna die from dunking a keyboard into water. They run of 12v max, possibly 5v, most likely 3.3v and very low current. Even it was still connected you wouldn't kill yourself - just damage your PC.elite.mafia wrote:

heh cheers sarge, and also it's wireless so it's never plugged in
it is ok to run your keyboard through the dishwasher in most cases, as long as it dried COMPLETELY before you plug it in. If you plug it in while it is wet, it will short and ruin the board, so you should have waited a day or two for it to dry out inside.mitch212k_2 wrote:
well ^^^ spilt mango juice on my k-board
only the left side, ie. the d key was as fas as it got
i've put the left side in a sink quick and all the mango juice is gone then i dried the keys the best i could ... but when i press a key it's registering as being pressed twice :S
What do i do?

People say if you put an electrical device in water, it's going to fry. This is true, so long as it has some power source. Even the tiniest power source will usually do. This is because the minerals in the water conduct the electricity, so the paths are converted and it shorts itself out. You would get the same results from throwing a quarter on a circuit board.elite.mafia wrote:

You put your new keyboard inside until you learn to control your hand movements.
Remove all the plastic key and covers. Take out the electronics. Put the plastics in a dishwasher and clean those. Gently clean the electronics.mitch212k_2 wrote:

I can confirm that. Just for the shits and giggles I put an old and dirt crusted P1 + mobo into the dishwasher (cold, no soap). Still works fineSargeV1.4 wrote:
