Bush War Advisor Recommends Draft

Do you want some draftee next to you who doesnt wanna be there? Didn't we find out that back in 'Nam that the draft didnt work to well? Or do you wanna pay for everyone to do 4 years in college? Now I plan to join the military, and I plan to go to college, but I dont think people should be forced to do those things. If they wanna work and McDonald's then thats their prerogative.

All Lute's saying is that it's not "off the table." But then neither are nukes. Neither one is likely before Jan 09.

The administration is just saying that they are examining all options...one of which is starting up the draft. That doesn't mean they are seriously considering it, nor that the House or Senate would vote it through should it get recommended.

On the one hand, a draft would make it much harder for rich kids to avoid the problems of war.

On the other hand, a draft would require a lot more spending on the military for all the additional training that it would require with personnel increases.
