From the people I saw interviewed about why they supported Rudd, I am convinced this was a mistake.
Almost every answer was "11 years is too long for one party" - since when is that a reason to hand control of a COUNTRY to someone else?

And seems to have very little idea of exactly wtf Rudd supports.
First, he said climate change. We ALL know Kyoto means shit without China, and in any case, the Liberals Carbon trading crap was bound to get somewhere eventually. They probably should have done some work with the Greens on that though.
Second, he said the war in Iraq. I've come to support the war in Iraq. Read about what the UN economic sanctions did to that country, and the famine they came close to causing repeatedly, then tell me that finally sorting out one of the most fucked up situations on Earth in the last twenty years was a bad thing.
Lastly, he mentioned the intervention in the NT.

Kyoto is an international treaty that is largely a token gesture to stop climate change. It is largely innefectual due to the fact that China and the USA both refuse to sign off on it, among other major industrialised nations.Nappy wrote:

Rudd said we should, where-as the Liberals had begun a carbon emissions trading scheme to try and get private industry to self-regulate it's emissions and cut them down on it's own.
Rudd's going to sign the treaty and probably build a few new government agencies to do the job. The Liberal's scheme had merit, just not sure how effective it was.
