My computer will run Call of Duty 4, but it doesn't meet the recomended requirments. I'm not going to get a new computer until next august, so I need to upgrade the video card. I only have a Dell Dimension 4600, so it only runs a AGP video card. I want to be able to run Cod 4 before next summer! I need any help possible.
I would go for this, http://search.dell.com/results.aspx?s=d … sort=price

if you dont have the psu for the ati card this one says it will run on an 350 watt. According to one of the reviewers you need a 450 watt to run the ati one.

From personal experience, upgrading DELLs might keep you going for another month or two, but not much longer! I suggest you start getting a source of income / stop spending the cash you currently get and update that computer if you are really interested in playing the latest games on semi-respectable settings.
Yea, at 14 years it's kind of hard to find a source of income. Ideas anyone?
Does that computer have enough power to run a 512 video card?
Yea, I have a 7600GT right now, which runs fine for BF2, but for COD4 it doesn't meet recomended req.

hustle the streets
I've got basically the same problem, looked at upgrading my current comp but is so old is not really worth it. Have decided to wait to Jan/Feb now and buy myself a whole new (shiny sexy) rig. However is gonna cost me 70-80 quid a month over the next 3 years. lulz.
What is your budget anyways? When ever I am asked by a mate about an AGP system that they want to squeez some more life out of I almost always recomend an ATI x1950pro. Probably one of the best AGP cards, tho if you want dx10 I guess you can go for the 2600 (I wouldnt).
