Rofl, we dont imply that we are "linked" with France at all, we just mean that we speak french, and still. When people ask me what language i speak, most of the time i answer with Quebecker...or whatever its written as

And I think France have data allowances for international bandwidth so they stay in their own country where its free. I also heard some of the bastards have 3.4Gpbs connections with free VOIP and IPTV.

That's cheap, the Belgians didn't build their end of the Maginot line and the Vichy were hated by the French themselves.

Francophones always stay around other francophones. The company I work for does some collaboration with France Telecom, and they have huge amounts of Internet and IPTV customers. IP connectivity in one form or another is probably more widespread in France than anywhere else in Europe.

Most native German/French/Spanish speakers tend to assume the whole world speaks their language and they don't bother to learn other languages. That's why you'll only see them on sites in their own language. Same goes for most people with English as their mother tongue but they happen to have the luck that English has evolved into a "global" language so there are more sites available to them.
