I had an ingrown toenail on both sides of my toe and just had both of them removed yesterday. When the took out the nail from underneath the skin they were huge. THe part on nail that was underneath the skin was about the size of a piece of stride gum. Doc gave me two anti-biotics and some pain killers. However, the pain killers arnt working that well so im walking around with a throbbing toe . I have to go back into to weeks for acid eching. In short, I feel like shit right now, but I'll get better.
Sounds painful and gross... hope you feel better soon.
I have friends from the Corps who had that problem. Some of them had to get both toenails removed permanently in order to stop the recurring problem.
Did they remove the whole nail or just cut the ingrown part of it out? I had my toe nail removed ones when I hit my toe to a rock while fishing in sandals Pretty annoying to change the bandage when it's stuck to the dry blood. Now it's grown back, but is a bit deformed, there's a v shaped thick part in the middle like so
a bit annoying to cut and have to file the sharp end of the V out or it hurts when there's pressure on the nail. Maybe I should get it removed again.

that's gross, pics?
doctor wouldnt let me take home the nail for pics. TO tupla they just removed ingrown part (i have an amazing pediatrist now). lawlz last pediatrist i had stuck the needle clear through my fucking toe.suomalainen_äijä wrote:

I have issues with cronic ingrown toenails...I know what you are going through. Put some ice on it; it should help reduce the throbbing pain.Liberal-Sl@yer wrote:

No worries bro, it will fade off, I remember I was on surgery and had 15 cm´s long iron sticks in my feet, it hurt alot when they were removing them
Ok, you just wasted alot of time getting that nail taken off, you also suffered alot of unnessicery pain.Liberal-Sl@yer wrote:

I had an ingrown toe nail about a year ago, and got it removed, when it grew back, the problem started all over again. So every month or so when I start to feel it digg into my skin, I just carefully cut the sharp bit off.
So, absolutly no point in getting it removed, go tell your doctor hes retarded.
And for whoever said cut a V in the toe nail, it doesnt work, I know alot of people say it does work but it doesn't.
you do know his surgery is permanant and he wont have ingrown nails anymore.....loubot wrote:

the surgery is so he wont get ingrown nails anymore, removes the part that makes them grow off to the sides, my friend had it done, he had an ingrown for 2 years or so, and hasnt had any problems sinceDr.Red-Eye wrote:
