Any clues as to why I haven't ranked up?

A slightly noobish question I'm afraid but I'm curious as to why I'm stuck on Colonel, EA are no help so I thought I'd ask the experts...

As far I can tell I've met the badge, score and time requirements to move to Major General (but not Brigadier General due to my dislike for flying) but apparently I'm missing something - any idea what?

Obviously I'm not going to get into a strop about this as there are more important things in life but it's a bit of a niggle and I'm curious to know if anyone has insight into the "secret" bits EA reckon they have held back from stats sites such as this one.

You can't hop over a rank, you must get promoted to Brig. General before you can get promoted to Major General.

Really?

I thought certain ones were an either / or rank?

I seem to remember that Master Sergeant and First Sergeant worked a bit like this depending on what badges you had or maybe it was Master Gunnery Sergeant and Sergeant Major...

If it's true I'm going to have to whore some flying machines!

Me again, thinking out loud (sort of)....

Based on the above how would you then move from Brigadier General to Major General if both ranks need the same score? Is this likely to be triggered by the "hidden" requirements EA are wittering on about?

OK, I should've said the rank.
It's a bit misleading when some early ranks can be hopped over.

To be a Major General you need more play time (1250h total), Marksman Infantry Medal and the rank of Brig. General.
In your situation, you'll get both promotions when you get the missing Veteran Aviator & Helicopter Badges.

I read the requirements many times, as I mentioned above I was under the impression that when ranks needed the same score you could jump one to get to the other - obviously I was wrong, keep pointing it out though, it makes me feel good

I can't play anymore though, if I do my time won't be 1337 and I'll feel like a loser.

Understood, time to hit the air and battle with people who like to TK for vehicles again then I guess

A shame EA couldn't clarify that originally and save me the embarrassment of being mocked on here, I guess their standard copy / paste replies didn't cover it though :p

As I've said a few times now there was some confusion over jumping ranks as had already happened with lower ones, this has been cleared up now, I need to fly more if I want to rank up... I get it :p

(Spend the morning in jets and choppers but it sucked ass, I get bored unless I'm gunning in a well piloted attack chopper)
