When it was rumoured last month that Christian Bale was in talks to play John Connor in McG's Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, many refused to believe that one of the most discerning actors around would affiliate himself with a sequel that few want to happen. Some put the hands over their ears and started screaming 'La la la, I"M NOT LISTENING'. Others spontaneously vomited. But Variety has confirmed that the rumour is true.

Dam, that had better be a good movie, or I will lose a great deal of respect for him.

Batman Begins? Equilibrium? The Machinist? The Prestige? All brilliant work done by him. Such an amazing actor. I'm sure there are more of his that I've seen but I can't remember...

And yes I said Equilibrium. It's actually a good sci-fi movie and though the movie as a whole isn't this amazing spectacular Oscar winner, Bale does great work in it.

I agree. He was great in Batman Begins and I think he'll do great here.

I fucking hated T3. It didn't live up to the previous 2 movies, and didn't continue with the story plot developed from them either. Instead, dudgement day was "postponed" to cover up the plot holes from the beginning.

But the worst part was what they did to the John Connor character. Turned him into a cowardly little shit, and in his place introduced Kate Brewster as a future general.

If Christian Bale does appear in the next movie, he better be co-writer too.

Christian Bale is a great actor.

He's also a method actor. Which means he does some freaky assed shit to get the performance perfect. Read about the gap between Batman and the movie he did before it. Crazy stuff. He's dedicated to pulling the role off.

Can't wait for The Dark Knight. Will be epic.

The Prestige is one of my favorite movies. I think he will do alright in it but I have to admit the story is dead though. The terminator movies should have ended at the 2nd one

They could do a prequel or something I guess.

I saw Rescue Dawn at the weekend ...very good. He must just like having to shed scary amounts of weight for his roles. If anyone could save the Terminator franchise Bale could. I think he'd actually make a good terminator.
