Wait a minute

It's a mall. It has gun shops (amirite?) it also has security guards. Where were they? How can someone manage to do all this and then also end his own life, where was everyone?

America, you bitch about having guns as a second constitution or w/e but when you need it the most to stop maniacs. You don't use them, what's the point?

Unlike a School, surely there would be an armed presence somewhere in the mall. I dunno....throws the whole gun control back into play, especially since nobody exercised their right to bear arms in today's event.

Alright, this mall DOES NOT have a gun shop, I've been there many times. Yes there are security guards but most of them are patrolling outside, from what I've seen. The police yelled "get out of the mall" about 1 minute after the first shot was fired. They were on the scene and had a perimeter around the mall faster than you can imagine.

Ok, appearently the shooter was some 19-20 year old kid who had been taken out of his house in Bellevue, and had been on the streets alone for some time. He lived at a couple different houses of friends. Probably mentally unstable.

so, that happened for the first time ever in Finland's history. but at we don't carry guns at school and probably cuz we don't even have guns. but the most importantly, we have a proper gunlaw

Most malls in the USA have no guns allowed rules. "Gun free zone" or a "victim enriched zone" as some call it. Its not law in most places, but if you are caught you can be kicked out and told not to return. If you refuse to leave after being told you are trespassing, in some cases trespassing with a firearm. Most law-abiding citizens obey the laws or rules set by others and leave their firearm in their car. While others only obey the ones that actually make sense.

What in the hell is this world coming to?

I mean these kids are fucking insane going around colleges, high schools, schools in general and now malls popping off shots killing people for no fucking reason ( Obviously he had issues ).

This is just getting a wee bit out of control.

But then again it not like someone could predict a maniac with a rifle coming into a mall and having a shoot out.

Somebody had a gun now didn't they?

The point is it can happen anywhere. Multiply your population 50 times and you might understand.

I agree with you, young people are getting crazy. the worst thing is that innocent people who have their whole life in front of them are killed by these maniacs

You can't say that it's just kids these days, because this stuff HAS happened in the past. 98% of kids today are good kids, besides the ones that live in the streets and are brought up that way.

Explain how you would stop a mentally ill guy who fired shots in a mall in probably less than a minute... all the wise folks from Europe...?
If he didnt have a gun he could have driven down the street and ran people down... he could have made an explosive... he could have stabbed people...  He needed to be in an institution... but he probably was let out so his rights werent violated... sad

Well, instead of nitpicking at everything America does, how about you guys do something to contribute to the world. Last time I checked, Finland hasn't done crap in the world.

Invader, answer the guy's question: What would you do in less than a minute to a guy that was in the crowd of tons of people, when you did not have a gun or anything? Would you run up and try to fist fight him?

You would be dead by then. Instead of this becoming a flame america thread, how about some condolence?

Sure, but still, other countries nit-pick at America and I'm just tired of it. Worry about your own country and really, be honest, no country is perfect.
I'm sorry about picking on Finland, but some things just really piss me off when people pick on America for trying to help and do some good in this world.
